Gale Sinuo was born outside the Miqo'te clans, to a loving mother in Ala Mhigo three years before the "Ala Mhigan Revolution." Upon his birth, it was clear to the physician that Gale possessed less aether than most children, which caused his mother great pains while he was a wee bab. Due to his less potent aetheric density, Gale was sensitive to even the smallest changes in the flow around him. This sensitivity waned as he grew, but he'd still be blinded in one eye and feel the effects of aether more than most.Gale unfortunately does not remember much from his homeland. The one thing he remembers clearly is an old story his mother once told him; one from her old clan, of warriors who sought out strength. These warriors would consume the most aether dense portions of strong beast, taking the aether within themselves. This story would be the only piece of his homeland Gale would carry with him alone into Ul'Dah as a refugee.During his time in Ul'Dah, Gale would eventually find his way in the coliseum. Originally he was nothing more than hired help; cleaning up after fights, making sure weapons were stored away properly, fetching water and medical supplies for the fighters. Over time Gale would delay storing the weapons, opting to sneak in time to train and strengthen his body when he thought no one would notice. As these tales normally go, Gale was eventually noticed, though he was not punished. While the coliseum was not hurting for fighters, one more surely wouldn't be a bad thing. Gale's superior at the coliseum organized his transfer of roles, and the Miqo'te would recieve training effective immediately at the age of ten.Then the Calamity came, Gale had yet to complete his training, and was left behind by his senior fighters while they departed for Carteneau. Most would not return, and the few who did had either lost the will, or ability to fight. The worst had lost both. Suddenly Gale was one of the most senior fighters in the Colesium, though it would be many moons before the entertainment bouts would return to the stage. During this interim, it was Gale's duty to train the new group of bright eyed warriors hoping for fame and fortune in the wake of devastation.A few summers had come and passed before Gale's contract with the Colesium was up for renewal. Despite the ringleader's attempts to retain the Miqo'te, he had elected to leave the Colesium, and Ul'Dah for that matter aswell; choosing to travel in the hopes of regaining a strength that was never his. Gale's memories of that old story his mother used to tell him echoed in his mind, strong beast would be his quarry. Through the stories traded between strangers at inns, the rumors of strong beast emerging in Coerthas would serve to feed Gale's hunger as he traveled north; hunting game along the way for meat, and large beast for the aether concentrated within their hearts.Gale's hunts had been fruitful for three moons in Coerthas, then the Holy See came for him. Gale had found some beast in the Central Highlands contained much of their aether in their eyes. These eyes contain more aether in them than most beast did within their hearts, leading these scaled beast with aether rich eyes to become Gale's preferred pray. However, the Ishgardians suspecting heretics were attempting to harness power from Dravanian hordes slain by men in the same way Haldrath once claimed power from Nidhogg.Gale was imprisoned by the Holy See pending trial for the crime of heresy for many moons. However, upon hearing from other prisoners that there was a chance at immediate freedom through a ritual "Trial by Combat," Gale took his request to the guards. It took another six moons for his request to be heard before a tribunal, there Gale was provided with a lance and an opportunity. His opponent was a knight of the inquisitor championing the accusation of heresy against Gale. The knight, a rather young man, but skilled in swordsmanship did eventually fall unconscious to the Miqo'te's polearm. Thus Gale was granted freedom, and all accusations were cast out. Gale departed from Ishgard making way to Gridiana, where his past would be left behind and a future had yet to be written.
